White Wedding at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science

If you've followed along on our blog or social pages, you might have picked up on the fact that we’re (Kaitlin in particular) a big fan of bold, colorful, and edgy! However, as an art history major and lover of all things aesthetic, there's still a soft spot in her heart for clean, classic, and simple! While this Denver Museum of Nature & Science celebration was not so simple, it was all things clean and classic! If white on white on white is done right, it can still add beautiful depth and visual interest, especially when coupled with some incredible museum architecture!

What takes this celebration over the top is the incredible attention to detail. The way the brush strokes on the cake mirrored the curves of the ceremony backdrop, the simple tissue paper decor, the pops of gold in the tablescapes, this wedding was all things WOW! A few tips to take YOUR clean, classic, or simple celebration to the next level!

1. Tie elements together! While neutrals and whites are easy to match, going the extra mile in those tied in elements can make for a pretty killer display!

2. Maximize the little details - without the gold flatware, pops of creams in the florals, and mix of white/acrylic, some of the table elements may have gotten lost among one another rather than elevating each other!

3. Choose one (or two) accents! Those accents can be other neutrals like creams, grays, or metals, or a pop of another soft color would be incredible (blush, sage, and steele/dusty blue are a few examples)!

4. Play off of the existing space. The architecture in DMNS, while it can easily lend itself to many looks, is pretty distinctive! Rather than working against or separately from your existing space, use it to inspire you!

5. Add inexpensive touches - many couples think of flowers immediately when we start chatting decor! Florals are incredible, but there are other (often less costly) ways to spruce up extra areas! Custom bar signs are crowd pleasers, non floral decor like lanters (or tissue paper!) can be easily resold, and little details like photos and personalized items add a lot to any space! Now get out there, find yourself a killer venue, and get the ideas flowing!!
