The good news? You’ve already taken the most important first step in the wedding planning process, getting engaged! ;) Whether you’re looking for an officiant early on in the planning process, or buttoning up your last few dream vendors, Kaitlin Shea Weddings is ready to join the team!
If you’re already loving what you see, feel free to reach out through our contact form (or to Kaitlin@Kaitlinsheaweddings.com) with your wedding date & basic details and I’ll get back to you ASAP to confirm availability! If you’d rather schedule a “get to know you” session first, we can absolutely make that happen, typically over phone or Google Meet! We require a 50% deposit to book, with the remainder being due 1 week prior to the wedding.
Once you’re officially booked (YAY!), I’ll send over my officiating questionnaire to get us started on the initial ceremony script! These basic questions will help me to start to get to know you, but we can continue customizing beyond this initial questionnaire! If there are specific traditions or cultural elements you want to include, or ideas you’re curious about, send them my way! :)
Once the initial script is written, you have the choice to review it ahead of time and make changes, or leave the final copy as a bit of a surprise for wedding day! If you’d like to review certain pieces, I can always send over an outline for your approval, still leaving the final details as a surprise. Once any edits have been made, we’re just about ready for wedding day!
Once we’re about a month out, I’ll confirm a few more details as needed (like processional order or family dynamics) and will send over a final guide to help you prep for wedding day! This final prep includes setting up your marriage license appointment and making sure all of your items (like rings and ring boxes) are ready to roll!
On actual wedding day, I’ll be on site 30-60 mins prior to ceremony start time (30 mins for elopements, 60 mins for larger weddings) to ensure everything runs smoothly! I’ll have everything that we’ll need for ceremony (like tissues, a pen for marriage license signing, etc), but if there are special items you’d like help with (like family heirlooms), just give me a little heads up in our final prep! And never hesitate to reach out throughout the process or on wedding day, I’m here to be a part of your success and want you to have the best wedding day possible, particularly the wedding ceremony!
